So here are just a few fond memories that come to mind.
San Diego County Incorporated City
Contracted to examine, identify and resolve issues of performance and security for IT infrastructure in a large-scale Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) environment. Discovered, documented and delivered a comprehensive summary report to city stakeholders concerning critical cyber-attack vectors. Outlined the risks, remedies and guidelines required to meet standard Asset Management Lifecycle Best Practices & streamline divergent IT management practices. Recommended policies & procedures that would best reduce the infrastructure attack surface profile generally.
California State Charter School
Improved performance of Charter School's mobile Internet devices, which had negatively affected 35,000 students in previous year's statewide testing. Worked extensively with Cradlepoint engineers to isolate and resolve the issue. Increased efficiency of Student Testing Wi-Fi technology by 90% for all students and their teachers.
Arthritis & Sports Rehab Clinic
Mitigated a Sports Therapy Clinic Internet failure, which left dozens of office staff and their patients without Internet service on the first day of business - with 1 cell phone. Spared this client from a 3-week delay of service. Also built an in-house open-source DICOM server, saving thousands of dollars.
Legal Firm
Restored firm's business email account from a successful phishing attack which resulted in complete loss of email function. Coordinated with AT&T and Yahoo! while preparing to refer the incident to the FBI Computer Crimes Division. The entire issue was subsequently resolved that same day, with no commensurate damage suffered.
Mental Health Organization
Rescued client office from mid-day Windows Server crash containing all company files and client database programs. Converted an available workstation into a makeshift Server, reestablished connectivity, data access and full functionality of critical business systems. Total office downtime less than 1-hour.
